Following the announcement that Harrison Ford has signed on for action sequel EXPENDABLES 3 (and a greedy Bruce Willis was rightfully told to fuck off) comes news that Mel Gibson is now confirmed as the main antagonist for the film following months of speculation. However, another surprise name has also joined the franchise, although there is no word on the specific role with Antonio Banderas also appearing in the film set to be directed by RED HILL’s Patrick Hughes. Coincidentally, both feature in Robert Rodriguez’s forthcoming MACHETE KILLS.
Ford, Gibson and Banderas will appear alongside Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey and Victor Ortiz. Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich are also expected to be included. EXPENDABLES 3 will shoot in Los Angeles in the coming weeks and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 15th August 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
