New Posters For Porn Biopic ‘Lovelace’ & Horror ‘Haunter’

First we have the latest, and slightly different UK poster for superbly cast porn biopic LOVELACE. The film is led by Amanda Seyfried as the late former porn queen who broke the mould in the adult genre during her traumatic years with abusive husband Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard).

In 1972—before the internet, before the porn explosion—Deep Throat was a phenomenon: the first scripted pornographic theatrical feature film, featuring a story, some jokes, and an unknown and unlikely star, Linda Lovelace. Escaping a strict religious family, Linda discovered freedom and the high-life when she fell for and married charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor. As Linda Lovelace she became an international sensation—less centerfold fantasy than a charming girl-next-door with an impressive capacity for fellatio. Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became an enthusiastic spokesperson for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world—and herself as the survivor of a far darker story.

Adam Brody, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Sharon Stone, James Franc, Wes Bentley, Juno Temple, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker c0-star in the film landing in the US on the 9th August and has a UK release date set for 23rd August. We’re also running a competition to win tickets to a special London screening of the film which you can enter HERE.

Next up is the new and stylish Russian one-sheet from CUBE and SPLICE director Vincenzo Natali‘s supernatural suspense thriller, HAUNTER.  Abigail Breslin leads the film as a dead girl who is forever reliving her final day 1985, when she and her family were murdered.

Lisa Johnson is one day shy of her sixteenth birthday. And she will be forever. She and her family are dead and doomed to repeat that fateful last day before they were all killed in 1985. Only Lisa has “woken up” and realises what is going on. She starts to feel as if she is being haunted, but the “ghost” turns out to be Olivia, a very much alive girl who lives in the house in the present day with her own family. With her help, Lisa discovers that the house once belonged to a serial killer who kidnapped teenage girls and burned their remains in a hidden furnace room. When he died, he became a Haunter – a powerful, evil spirit able to possess the living.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
