We two brand new UK posters for two efforts making their premieres at this months Film4 FrightFest.
First up is the Renny Harlin-directed found-footage thriller THE DYATLOV INCIDENT. It’s a film centring on a group of students on a trek to investigate the true-life mystery of nine skiers who befell an unexplained death while skiing in the Russian mountains in 1959. To this day, their deaths have been one of the most bizarre unsolved mysteries of the 20th century but the youngsters are about to learn the terrifying truth. Gemma Atkinson, Richard Reid, Matt Stokoe, Luke Albright, Holly Goss and Ryan Hawley co-star in the film on general release 23rd August
Next up is the twisted survival slasher NO ONE LIVES. It’s directed by MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN’s Ryûhei Kitamura with the plot seeing a ruthless criminal gang take a young couple hostage but soon find the tables are unexpectedly turned, leaving the gang at the mercy of the seasoned and highly skilled serial-killer. Rising Welshman Luke Evans leads the film which also features Lee Tergesen, Adelaide Clemens, Laura Ramsey, Lindsey Shaw, America Olivo, Beau Knapp, Derek Magyar and Brodus Clay. A general UK release is set for 6th September.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
