Following on from the first look at cover and poster artwork, we bring you the first trailer from forthcoming vampire sequel FRIGHT NIGHT 2: NEW BLOOD. The film is follow-up to Craig Gillespie’s 2011s underrated comic horror starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell, a remake of the cult classic from 1987 and originally directed by Tom Holland. The latest effort is again centred on the exact same characters from Gillespie’s film, although each character has been recast and will go straight-to-DVD.
When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend “Evil” Ed and ex-girlfriend Amy in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him. In fact, Evil Ed finds it amusing and it only feeds his vampire obsession. When Gerri turns Ed, Charlie seeks out Peter Vincent, the infamous vampire hunter (well, he plays one on TV) who is in Romania filming his show “Fright Night,” to teach him how to take down Gerri before she gets to Amy, who’s blood will cure Gerri of spending eternity as a vampire.
FRIGHT NIGHT 2: NEW BLOOD is directed by Eduardo Rodriguez and sees sultry stunner Jaime Murray taking on the lead villain role as vampire Gerri. The film also stars Will Payne, Chris Waller, Sean Power, Sacha Parkinson and is released on DVD/Blu-ray in the US 1st October. No word yet on the UK release but expect it around the same time.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
