A worrying trend has emerged in the last couple of years. Rather than waiting for a movies release, promoting it with a trailer that gives little away, then unleashing the main players into media days, studios now see fit to release clip after clip, trailer after trailer, and interview after interview before release. Some films benefit greatly from this process, mainly due to a wafer-thin story and obvious narrative, but others, I’m looking at you PROMETHEUS, have been ruined by a studios pernicious leak of video. One could probably have pieced together each clip released for PROMETHEUS and watched the whole film. For this reason the videos below, from our great friends at Collider, have been posted blind by yours truly for fear I may ruin what will undoubtedly be another Neill Blomkamp masterpiece after the spectacular DISTRICT 9.
Ok, I gave in and watched them and ELYSIUM looks bloody brilliant. Let us know your thoughts after watching.

Behind The Scenes
ELYSIUM stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Wagner Moura, Diego Luna and the legend that is William Fichtner. Released 9th August in the US, us suckers in the UK have to wait until the 21st.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
