Next week sees the release of Steve Coogan’s signature character Alan Partridge on the big-screen for the first time in hostage takeover comedy, ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPA PAPA.
The failed chat show host, still making a meagre living a regional North Norfolk Digital Disc Jockey, finds himself thrust back in the spotlight once again when a sacked colleague (Colm Meaney) takes hostages at his workplace and refuses to negotiate with anyone other than our cringeworthy hero. It gives Norwich’s favourite son the perfect opportunity to shine, or rather land the high-calibre breakfast spot on the digital radio channel. Back Of The Net!
Check out this latest clip, with Alan alongside Mid Morning Matters’ Sidekick Simon, from the film hitting UK cinemas 7th August and co-starring Darren Boyd, Anna Maxwell-Martin, Phil Cornwell, Tim Key, Sean Pertwee, Felicity Montagu and Simon Greenall. Declan Lowney is at the helm.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
