First Poster & Stills For Vincenzo Natali’s ‘Haunter’ Has Abigail Breslin Hitting The Bottle!

Acclaimed director Vincenzo Natali may have found cult audiences with thought-provovking thrill-ride CUBE and twisted evolutionary sci-fier SPLICE, but he’s really yet to break into the mainstream. His next outing is the supernatural suspense thriller HAUNTER, which is led by Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin (and whose got to be the new horror Scream Queen following impressive roles in the upcoming THE CALL and FINAL GIRL) as the ghost of a beautiful young girl who must unravel a decades-old mystery, with the help of a present day youngster, to save her family from repeating their horrifying final day forever.

Check out the stylish first poster and new stills from the film hitting the US from 18th October, while a UK is still being sought.

Lisa Johnson is one day shy of her sixteenth birthday. And she will be forever. She and her family are dead and doomed to repeat that fateful last day before they were all killed in 1985. Only Lisa has “woken up” and realises what is going on. She starts to feel as if she is being haunted, but the “ghost” turns out to be Olivia, a very much alive girl who lives in the house in the present day with her own family. With her help, Lisa discovers that the house once belonged to a serial killer who kidnapped teenage girls and burned their remains in a hidden furnace room. When he died, he became a Haunter – a powerful, evil spirit able to possess the living.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
