Absolute genius or complete travesty? Either way CRAZYSEXYCOOL: THE TLC STORY will be released to the masses in October, so you’ll just have to deal with it. The film follows the popular (and rather amazing) 90s girl group as they go from their Atlanta beginnings to one of the biggest girl groups of all time.
The film stars Keke Palmer, Drew Sidora and Lil Mama as Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The film is directed by Charles Stone III, but the credit that is causing the most buzz is the writer of the Oscar nominated Tina Turner bipic WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT screenwriter Kate Lanier wrote the screenplay (clearly the people hyping up the film forgot she also wrote the Mariah Carey master piece GLITTER)
We do have to say, if there was an Oscar for best transformation for a role this could definitely be up for the running. The resemblance is uncanny. Surviving members of TLC serve as executive producers.
CRAZYSEXYCOOL: THE TLC STORY will air on Vh1 in October, it currently has no planned UK release date. Check out the trailer below, and we’ll bump into you on Spotify as we both remember the hits TLC had.
