The newest version of the greatest love story ever told, ROMEO AND JULIET, is nearing it’s release date and the first poster and an image from the film have been released in anticipation. This new adaptation of Shakespeare’s most famous play has been penned by Julian Fellowes whose writing fans of Downton Abbey will know well and directed by Carlo Carlei. The young lovers are played by Hailee Steinfeld, nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 2010’s TRUE GRIT and Douglas Booth (The Pillars of the Earth, Great Expectations).
There’s a great supporting cast lined up in this film with Damien Lewis, Ed Westwick, Paul Giamatti, Stellan Skarsgard, Christian Cooke, Natascha McElhone and Lesley Manville all featuring. The trailer for the movie was released a while back and promised longing stares, meaningful glances, a villainous Ed Westwick and a whole lot of hair. The poster and image continue in the same vain with anguished stares the overpowering theme.
