Can we get a hell yeah for our oversea THN readers out there? It was announced today that the upcoming DOCTOR WHO 50th Anniversary special will be aired simultaneously following an agreement with global broadcasters.
It is believed that the BBC worked out the decision with global broadcasters to prevent any leaks of the episode and also prevent any spoilers. It was also decided because, well, we have to celebrate the 50 AMAZING years of DOCTOR WHO somehow, and what’s better than knowing that you are watching the episode with millions of Whovians around the world?
The special 90 minute episode, due to air on November 23, could possibly be the biggest-ever global simulcast of a drama and fetch more than 100 million viewers from 200 territories.
