TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh sees his controversial novel FILTH brought to the big-screen by CASS writer/director Jon S. Baird. James McAvoy takes the lead as self destructive detective Bruce Robertson. A bipolar, bigoted and junkie cop, who believes the the best way to win back his wife and family is to manipulate, snort and shag his way through the nearing festive season. Another trailer (the third actually) has arrived and again exposes the disturbing, yet hilarious journey to come for the angry Scotsman.
Joining McAvoy in a superb British ensemble is Shirley Henderson, Imogen Poots, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Martin Compston, Joanne Froggett and Pollyanna McIntosh. FILTH is expected in Scottish cinemas from 27th September and the remainder of the UK 4th October!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
