Thunderous Final Theatrical Trailer & Viral Video For ‘Pacific Rim’

We’ve the final theatrical trailer (the fourth!) from writer/director Guillermo del Toro’s great grotesque creature invasion flick, PACIFIC RIM. The film, co-written by Travis Beacham, stars SONS OF ANARCHY’s Charlie Hunnam and rising actress Rinko Kikuchi as a pair of pilots who fight the towering and terrifying creations unleashed via a shattering underwater earthquake, in specially designed massive mechanical monsters.

We’ve also added a brand new viral video featuring the director’s frequent collaborator, Ron Perlman.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

PACIFIC RIM co-stars Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke, Diego Klattenhoff, and smashes into cinemas from 12th July!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
