TV fans were quite shocked to hear that everybody’s hate to love show GLEE was being renewed for not one but two more seasons after a traumatic season four (Don’t get us started on ‘The Break Up’ episode) but we were still happy. But that renewal soon become a bitter sweet affair as it was announced that Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike) were being dumped for the newbies.
If it’s any constellation, one person that will be returning is Coach Sue Sylvester herself, Jane Lynch. While promoting her new game show HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT, she spoke of the GLEE shake up, and she does not see the shake up through angry fan girl eyes like we do clearly:
“That’s the nature of portraying a realistic view of high school: Kids graduate. They move on. I like that we’re following some of the kids to New York where they’re trying to make it as actors and actresses. But the show will evolve, and when a show evolves that means you have to let some people go, and let some storylines go, so that you can pursue new ones.”
But while Lynch has been confirmed to reprise her role as Sue, how will she return to season five? She says “Your guess is as good as mine” …we’re sure they will be enough spoilers online when GLEE starts shooting in August.
