We’ve got the first look at TRAP FOR CINDERELLA and judging by this trailer, we’re in for one hell of a twisted ride. We’re set up with Micky played by Tuppence Middleton, she’s a photographer, living it up in London but when she randomly bumps into a old childhood friend, her life changes completely. The friend is the oddly named Do (Alexandra Roach), who’s a bank clerk and quite the opposite of Micky. As their old friendship hits the heights of years gone by, they travel to France to recollect those memories from their youth but then… tragedy strikes.
From the trailer, we’re definitely into a deep, psychological trip with unsubtle hints of an erotic thriller. There’s memory loss, exploding buildings and all kinds of debauchery and, for me, echoed the feel of SHALLOW GRAVE and TRANCE which is interesting because it also stars Kerry Fox. There’s another link as well because lead lady Tuppence Middleton had a bit-part in TRANCE and I’m eager to see more of her on the big screen. It’s directed and written by Iain Softley and also stars Alexandra Roach (UTOPIA), Aneurin Barnard (HUNKY DORY) and Frances De La Tour.
