DOWNFALL director Oliver Hirschbiegel is the talent behind the sure-to-be-controversial latter years biopic of the people’s princess and England’s rose, DIANA. The film focuses on the final two years of the tragic Princess Of Wales, during her secretive relationship with surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan and her crusading campaign fight against land mines but whether the horrific accident which claimed her life is to be featured, only time will tell.
Oscar-nominated actress Naomi Watts takes on the title role with a cast that includes familiar UK faces Naveen Andrews, Douglas Hodge, Geraldine James, Juliet Stevenson and Art Malik.
There is currently no US release details but it’s set for UK cinemas from 20th September.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
