Fear not, as there are still 175 shopping days until Christmas, but that will not stop us talking about one of the films set to hit cinemas this holiday season. BLACK NATIVITY stars Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Tyrese Gibson, Jacob Latimore, Mary J. Blige, Nasir Jones and Jennifer Hudson, and is described as contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes’ celebrated off-Broadway play, which debuted in 1961.
As you can see, actress turned director Kasi Lemmons has assembled quite a cast for her take on the work, which revolves around a street-wise kid from Baltimore, raised by a single mother, who travels all of the way to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged relatives.
The first trailer for the film has just been released by Fox Searchlight, and you can check it out below. US audiences can expect this on November 27th, 2013. The UK release is as yet to be announced.
