Take A Lick At Awesome New Clip & Behind-The-Scenes Of ‘Pacific Rim’

Only this weekend did we showcase yet more stunning featurettes and clips from director Guillermo del Toro’s thunderous-looking creature-feature PACIFIC RIM, while today we brought you three new posters. Now we’ve yet another look at the sci-fi epic in which the Earth comes under attack from long-dormant monsters unleashed via a massive underwater quake. It’s left to mankind to find their own way of fighting back with mechanical monsters of our own.

This latest clips sees the a towering Kaiju creature doing a little slimy and glowing tongue wondering! There is also a 12-minute look at some behind-the-scenes of the making of the film.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

PACIFIC RIM stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke, Diego Klattenhoff, and smashes into cinemas from 12th July!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
