‘Riddick’s Survival Is His Revenge For New Poster

Certainly for myself, Vin Diesel’s best acting effort easily came in 1999 science-fiction sleeper hit PITCH BLACK, so I’m stoked to see his return as the ruthless conflicted character Richard B. Riddick. This despite enjoyable, if overblown sequel THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, which, while no means a dire effort, attempted to strip down his mysterious sight-adjusted serial-killing renegade into a more cuddly and generic action (anti)hero.

Diesel is back alongside writer/director/co-creator David Twohy, for this simply-titled sequel – RIDDICK. It sees the hunted intergalactic outlaw crash landing on a grotesque creature-filled planet. However, he has a sinister, selfish plan all of his own to survive by notifying the mercenary bounty hunters after his head of his whereabouts, and steal one of their ships to make his escape. All while they’re fighting for their lives against the marauding monsters!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
