It may have been delayed almost three years after running into financier problems but Adam Wingard’s YOU’RE NEXT is set to hit cinemas from August after being saved by Lionsgate. After strong audience reactions at the Toronto International Film Festival, way back in 2011, we’ll finally get to see the survival thriller in which a family reunion is horrifyingly interrupted by eerily silent masked invaders. However, just when you think this is going to be a one-sided murderous affair, one of the new family members proves to be the most talented killer of all with secret talent in fighting back!

YOU’RE NEXT stars Sharni Vinson, Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Amy Seimetz, Barbara Crampton, Wendy Glenn, Margaret Laney, Rob Moran, Nicholas Tucci, Ti West and opens in the US from 23rd August and the UK from the 30th, but they’ll also be previews from 28th August.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
