Previously, we got the first poster and look into Woody Allen’s BLUE JASMINE starring Cate Blanchett and now we’ve got the first trailer and another little insight for you. It’s been a quiet road to production for this one, which doesn’t really follow in the footsteps of the excellent MIDNIGHT IN PARIS and then FROM ROME WITH LOVE.
I like Woody’s tales and style, even moreso when he’s getting a film out seemingly every year at the moment. This time around it focuses around Cate Blanchett in the title role of Jasmine and she suffers a life crisis that causes her to head to San Francisco to reconnect with her sister. From the trailer, this looks to be a much more serious affair than some of his recent work but with Blanchett on absolute top form. I can’t wait to see it, alongside another impressive cast in the shape of THN favourite Sally Hawkins, plus Alec Baldwin, Bobby Cannavale, Louis CK, Andrew Dice Clay, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg.
Here’s that trailer:
