In the similar vein of our coverage of JUSTIN AND THE KNIGHTS OF VALOUR earlier this week, DOLPHIN TALE 2 hits the young people demographic pretty well. 2011’s DOLPHIN TALE focused on the story around a friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap and was instead fitted with a prosthetic tail to help her swim.
This second adventure sees Dolphin Winter’s relationship with another injured dolphin calf called Hope who was also rescued close to the spot where Winter was originally discovered. Group = Awh! DOLPHIN TALE 2 is scheduled for filming at the end of 2013, Warner Bros will return to St. Petersburg/Clearwater’s most famous resident, Winter the dolphin, with an eventual return to the big screen in September 2014.
All of the dolphins in DOLPHIN TALE 2 are permanent residents at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium located in the Floridian community of Clearwater. It was during the wrap party of the original Dolphin Tale that the team learnt of a stranded dolphin who they later named Hope. They’re hoping that all the cast will return from the original, where they had the very talented cast including Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr, Ashley Judd and Kris Kristofferson.
