Dwayne Johnson may be currently swinging a sword on the set of Brett Ratner’s HERCULES: THRACIAN WARS as we saw the release is SNITCH in the UK today, but many have been left to wonder just where is EMPIRE STATE.
The former wresting superstar shot the fact-based thriller almost two years ago, alongside HUNGER GAMES hunk Liam Hemsworth, but we’re hearing rather than a big-screen release, it’s strangely headed direct-to-DVD/Blu-ray via Grindstone Entertainment on the 3rd September in the US (no confirmed date in the UK as of yet). Now that’s surprising given the star power of the duo, as well as the impressive supporting cast included of Michael Angarano, Michael Raspoli, Emma Roberts, Nikki Reed, James Ransone and Jerry Ferrara.
Check out the following first trailer to see if director Dito Montiel’s crime-thriller, which centres on two childhood friends and their desperate plan to rob an armored car depository, looks all that bad to you!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
