Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros are collaborating for Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR after the project was originally failed to come to fruition in 2006 with Steven Spielberg at the helm. Jonathan Nolan was then hired to pen the screenplay inspired by Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip S. Thorne’s theories that wormholes exist and can be manipulated for time travel.
We already know the film’s main cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Bill Irwin. Now Casey Affleck has confirmed he’s joining the project, although didn’t give any hints to his character in the sci-fi thriller. INTERSTELLAR will again be shot in Nolan’s favourite IMAX format and is set for release on 7th November 2014.
Affleck, brother of Oscar-winner Ben, is an acclaimed Academy Award nominee himself following his outstanding performance in Andrew Dominik’s masterpiece western biopic THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD. He also headlined his brother’s brilliant directorial debut GONE BABY GONE and will next be seen opposite Christian Bale in Scott Cooper’s brutal revenge thriller, OUT OF THE FURNACE.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
