They’d lose their heads if they weren’t screwed on. After director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo left the project last year, citing the old “creative differences” excuse, Summit Entertainment’s HIGHLANDER reboot has suffered another casualty with the departure of star Ryan Reynolds. As producers Neal Moritz and Peter Davis searched for another director, Reynolds was left quietly twiddling his thumbs. However, people can’t be expected to wait forever. This does give the project a fresh start, and perhaps they could actually cast a Scottish actor in the role. Ryan Reynolds hasn’t exactly been a box office draw over the last few years, and with the rather lame looking R.I.P.D. coming out this summer, that doesn’t look set to change.
R.I.P.D. is released 19th July in the US and 30th August in the UK. It stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Robert Knepper, James Hong, Marisa Miller, and Stephanie Szostak.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
