Oh yes, this might sound early but there’s a reason for the news and it’s all about how the voting works for the next stupendous and stunning awards ceremony. So, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) have announced the full timetable for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2014.
Nominations will be announced on Wednesday 8th January and, as previously announced, the ceremony will take place on Sunday 16th February at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden and will be broadcast once again by the BBC.
To be eligible, a film must be released theatrically in the UK between 1st January and 31th December 2013. Films released between 1th January and 14th February 2014 may be ‘qualified’ by being screened for members no later than 19th December 2013.
So, there you go and now you can’t complain when you wonder why your favourite isn’t included. Now then, can I have a place on the voting panel please as I’m excited about another tremendous year for film! Who’s your early favourite?

Thursday 19 December Screening deadline for ‘qualified’ films

Friday 3 January Round One Voting closes

Wednesday 12 February Round Two Voting closes
Friday 14 February All entered films to open for general release by this date
Saturday 15 February Nominees’ Party
Sunday 16 February EE British Academy Film Awards
