While Fox 2000 has announced that one of their latest projects DARE ME now has GREY GARDENS and THE VOW’s Michael Sucsy set to direct, the attention seems to be on who the studio are trying to get on board to star. It is thought that they are chasing Natalie Portman for the lead role in the novel that has been described as a cross between HEATHERS and FIGHT CLUB.
If she is cast, DARE ME follows a cheerleader named Addy who tries to claim her title of head girl back after a cool young coach joins to work with with the team. But when there is a suicide in the squad, Addy discovers the truth behind the death. Author Megan Abbott also adapted the book for the screen.
Sucsy might have a couple of films to his name, but he is attached to some big projects coming soon, including STRAIGHT NO CHASER, a flick based on the a cappella group of the same name.
