While the Tony Awards is to celebrate the biggest stars of the Broadway, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER star Neil Patrick Harris stole the show yet again with his opening and closing numbers to the show.
Harris, who has presented the Tony awards for the last four years, opened the show at Radio City Music Hall in New York with a number saying how bigger the show has got, before the performers of ONCE, KINKY BOOTS, PIPPIN and NEWSIES took to the stage with him, but the biggest surprise of all was when Mike Tyson took to the stage. Tyson had a one man show titled MIKE TYSON: UNDISPUTED TRUTH that had a run on Broadway last year. During the musical number, Neil Patrick Harris also took a dig at Tom Hooper’s LES MISERABLES.
Another big surprise (at least for the UKers) was when Arthur Darvill, better known as Rory Williams (Well,Pond) from DOCTOR WHO, took to the stage. Darvill recently joined the cast of ONCE, and caused a bit of a stir when he did not actually announce he was joining.
Check out the opening number below:

This might be one of the best things I’ve seen in ages!
Quite some impressive work – even if musicals aren’t always my thing :p
