Colm Feore’s Character In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Revealed As Another Familiar Comic Villain!

As terrific as Sam Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN 2 was, his third web-slinging outing attempted to pack in as many villains as possible. This led to a bloated sequel that never really stood up as an epic conclusion and almost undid all the previous good work. Like Raimi’s first opening SPIDER-MAN, Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN wasn’t perfect but did a great job in rebooting the core characters we knew so well and assembled an ace cast. However, we’re hoping Webb will be able to juggle multiple protagonists better than Raimi did after confirming Paul Giamatti’s Rhino and Jamie Foxx’s Electro for the sequel. Not forgetting father and son tag-team of Norman and Harry Osborne (Chris Cooper and Dane Dehaan respectively) also making their debuts.

Now it’s come to attention that veteran actor Colm Feore (THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK and THOR), who we already knew was onboard as an unknown character, is also set to make a transformation as another evildoer. Yes, Feore’s role has been revealed as that of Adrian Toomes, best known to the Marvel comic-book universe as The Vulture! That’s now at least four miscreants (or five depending which way Harry turns) and we’re pretty sure this currently shooting sequel is going to be an epic continuing adventure that will possibly run into a concluding part three, which as we know, Webb has signed on to complete a trilogy. Could these next two adventures consist of some sort of ‘Sinister’ team-up?

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
