Tom Hardy has been a very sought-after man lately (and not just by half of the female population). It was revealed today that he is set to star in post-WWII epic THE OUTSIDER. The film also marks the English-language debut for cult director Takashi Miike, who made a name from himself on films like AUDITION, HARA-KIRI: DEATH OF A SAMURAI and the recently Palme D’Or nominated STRAW SHIELD.
Not much has been revealed, except that the film follows a former American G.I. who becomes part of the Japanese yakuza after World War II. It is based on an idea by SONS OF ANARCHY executive producer John Linson, who will also produce the project.
Filming will start early next year in Japan.
