It looks like Denzel Washington is ready to go full force with going back to his bad ass anti-hero roots after it was revealed that he was in talks to star in SHOVEL READY. The project is an adaptation of the debut from journalist-turned-novelist Adam Sternbergh.
SHOVEL READY is set in future New York City, where most of the landscape is bombed out and the population escape by going into a digital world. The story follows a contract killer hired to murder the daughter of a manic evangelist. However, when he becomes her protector, he’s stuck between his job and his morals.
While Washington was nominated for an Oscar for FLIGHT (check out our DVD review here) he’s been slowly getting back to his tough nut ways, with 2 GUNS heading to cinemas in August. Are you excited to see Denzel Washington back to his brutal ways or do you prefer his lighter roles?
