The first trailer for James Wan’s horror sequel INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 has arrived as well as a number of new stills.
Director Wan and frequent collaborator Leigh Whannell have brought the whole cast back for another visit to the house of horrors as the Lambert family seeks to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world with the help of the paranormal investigators.
I found the 2011 POLTERGEIST-like thriller highly effective until two-thirds of the way in, when we were given an insight to ‘The Further’, so I’m willing to give this franchise another go. Although, considering the conclusion of the first film, most will be intrigued to say how this one pans out.
Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey, Angus Sampson and Whannell all return (for higher paycheck’s) in the supernatural thriller slated to spook cinemas from the 13th September.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
