A Surprise Return For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

For those who’ve yet to see Marc Webb’s wall-crawler reboot THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, you may want to skip this post. While those not wanting to be tangled up in pivotal details of Webb’s currently shooting sequel may also want to exit as below the official plot synopsis, we’ve a couple of spoiler set stills.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter Parker hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter Parker when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

If you’re sticking around you’re obviously eager to see what we have to offer as we can now confirm ace actor and comedian Denis Leary will again feature in the follow-up to last years blockbusting superhero hit. How much so, we’re not too sure but considering the conclusion of the first film we suspect it’s going to be as a flashback and/or hallucination sequence as these set pictures show the extent of the damage inflicted to Gwen Stacy’s decorated cop father by the slimy Lizard.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
