Whether you’re fan of the franchise or not (I’ve never seen any of the FAST & FURIOUS films and I’m being dragged to see the latest sequel tonight), you can’t deny the pull it attracts at the box-office. This past weekend marked Memorial Day in America, with the film raking in a very respectable $120 million!
While competing against THE HANGOVER PART III and THE GREAT GATSBY, FAST & FURIOUS 6 didn’t disappoint, with it being the fourth-highest Memorial Day opening in box-office history. Bringing in around $33,000 per cinema, it makes it the second biggest opening in 2013 behind IRON MAN 3. The fifth sequel has brought in around $317 million globally, giving it $157 million in profit! Not bad for a sequel (and apparently America loves them!)

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
