A Pre-CGI’ed Giamatti Shows The Real Scale Of ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Rhino

We’ve previously brought you images from the set of Marc Webb’s web-swinging sequel THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 giving us the first look at Paul Giamatti as the heavily tattooed Russian mobster Aleksei ‘The Rhino’ Sytsevich. While we’re still unsure of just how much of a part his character plays in the plot, we’ve now a clue at the size and scale of the villain once he dons his crushing ‘horny’ costume. You can find a lot more images over at fan-girl.org.

Jamie Foxx will portray the ‘shocking’ primary villain Max Dillon (aka Electro) in the rebooted superhero sequel. Chris Cooper also expected the make an appearance as Norman Osborne (aka The Green Goblin) as will his son Harry, played by Dane DeHaan, whose career has been on the rise since a breakout performance in CHRONICLE. The latter two characters are expected to set up their roles in the concluding adventure. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 co-stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone,  Sally Field, Felicity Jones, Martin Sheen, Colm Feore, Shailene Woodley and will swing into cinemas 2nd May 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

I hope this isn’t pre-CGI and that this is how it will look in the final film. It would be great if Giamatti was just batshit crazy and kept distracting Spider-Man with poorly assembled cardboard creations.
