We love a good fantasy series here at The Hollywood News, but one that has caught our eye recently is THE BONE SEASON. The first in seven books, it marks the debut novel for 21-year-old Samantha Shannon…yeah you read that right, 21!
The story finds us in the year 2059, and 19 year old Paige Mahoney is working in the criminal underworld of Scion London. But Paige is a dreamwalker and a clairvoyant and because of this, she commits treason simply by breathing. But one day Paige is attacked, and kidnapped to a city that has been kept secret for hundreds of years. She finds herself assigned to Warden, a Rephaite creature. He is her master, her trainer, but he is also her enemy. But if Paige wants to regain her freedom she must allow herself to be nurtured in this prison where she is meant to die.
Despite this book not being released for another two months, the hype behind it has been huge. Even Andy Serkis’ The Imaginarium Studios scored the film rights straight away, and the film adaptation is already in developed. While we have to wait until August 20th for the book’s release, there is no doubt that THE BONE SEASON will be the next fantasy hit, so get on the bandwagon first, and check out the trailer below:
