Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield get ready for their close up in the newly released promo photo for science fiction movie ENDERS GAME from Summit Entertainment. Set in the future, ENDERS GAME presents earth in conflict with an alien race who are preparing a deadly attack on the planet. Ford is cast as the man at the helm of preparing earth for the anticipated invasion, Hyrum Gruff, by finding and training the very best and brightest young children for his fleet.
HUGO star Butterfield leads the pack as Ender Wiggin – a gifted and tactically brilliant young boy who is enlisted after his skills are seen by Gruff. Butterfield showed great promise in HUGO and looks set to take on the physical and mental anguish Wiggin fights to overcome during the course of the movie.
The novel upon which the movie is based, written by Orson Scott Card, has been criticized for too easily justifying the violent actions of Ender Wiggin. The trailer does not make this a focus and it will be interesting to see how much character violence we see in the finished product when it is released on November 1st.
