The latest trailer for 20th Century Fox’s X-MEN spin-off sequel, THE WOLVERINE, has arrived as Hugh Jackman’s hard-as-nails superhero mutant Logan travels to Tokyo, Japan in an effort to find answers to his past and a possible cure for his curse. We’ve also the ink blotted-style character posters for serpent-like chameleon villain Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) and new love-interest, Yukio (Rila Fukushima). The official plot synopsis is as follows:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
THE WOLVERINE is directed by James Mangold and is released in cinemas 25th July. It co-stars Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Famke Janssen, Hal Yamanouchi and Tao Okamoto.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
