Yesterday, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 director Mark Webb officially released the first image of Paul Giamatti as the heavily tattooed Russian headcase Aleksei ‘The Rhino’ Sytsevich from his web-slinging sequel. We’re still unsure how much of a part the character plays in the plot and if he’ll ever get in the ‘horny’ costume but from the look of these new set stills, Giamatti’s thousand-yard stare is as menacing as we’ve seen from any villain from the Spider-Man franchise as he does a little on-the-spot comic-book research. You can find a lot more images over at fan-girl.org.
As we know, Jamie Foxx will portray the ‘shocking’ primary villain Max Dillon (aka Electro) in the rebooted superhero sequel slated for cinemas 2nd May 2014, with Chris Cooper also expected the set up his appearance as Norman Osborne in the concluding adventure. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 co-stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Sally Field, Felicity Jones, Colm Feore and Shailene Woodley.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
