See Zod Heat In Stunning New ‘Man Of Steel’ UK TV Spot & Superpower Featurette!

Late last night we brought you brand new footage from MAN OF STEEL in a National Guard theatre recruitment campaign, along with a ‘making of’ featurette, which were both directed by Zack Synder. Today we’re spoiling you even further with the first UK television spot from Warner Bros. reboot of the DC Comics icon, Superman, as well a mini-featurette looking at Kal-El’s super-powered traits.

The official plot synopsis, for those living under rocks, is as follows:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

MAN OF STEEL is also produced by Christopher Nolan and stars Henry Cavill, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix, Richard Schiff and Russell Crowe. It is flies into cinemas from the 14th June.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
