It’s recently been suggested Joss Whedon will incorporate the brother and sister superhero team of The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in joining his AVENGERS initiative for the sequel due 2015. While we expect to see the likes of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner and the God Of Thunder return, new blood is surely going to be essential in the squad for next adventure and the aforementioned siblings could be just the job in helping bring down whatever intergalactic menace Whedon has down in the script (possibly Thanos?).
While it’s still a couple of years away from the big-screen, Marvel Studios have eyed two candidates to fill those roles and we have word on one of those names. Rising Irish Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan is rumoured to be their favourite for the female role. It’s a bold move to include these characters considering their link to another Marvel created franchise (and a villainous one at that) they no longer hold the rights to but they must have did their homework to allow their inclusion. That is indeed if those reports last week are correct.
