The New Adventures of Wonder Woman Heading To The Horror Channel!

New Adventures of Wonder Woman-1Superb news from the guys over at the Horror Channel in the UK, as they’ve acquired the rights to broadcast The New Adventures of Wonder Woman in a deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution.  Series one will debut on the Horror Channel from May 20th as the latest series offering for daytime audiences. Brilliant stuff.

The New Adventures of Wonder Woman is one of the most popular cult TV-shows from the 1970s. Fans will get another chance to watch the unforgettable Lynda Carter, as Diana Prince, spin to transform into Wonder Woman.  Our super heroine is armed with a magic belt giving her tremendous strength, bracelets that can stop any bullet, a tiara that can be thrown as a returning weapon, an unbreakable magic lasso that can force anyone to tell the truth and an invisible plane to get her to any emergency on time.  Diana Prince leaves her paradise island to work for a government agency fighting the bad guys and like many a superhero, she remains in her civilian identity and only transforms into Wonder Woman during the climatic moments of each episode.

Alina Florea, Director of Programming, CBS Chello Zone Channels, had this to say:

“This iconic series encapsulates the spirited adventure that our audience enjoys in daytime and we’re glad to be bringing the series back to UK audiences after so many years.  The series which made Lynda Carter a household name complements our daylight schedule of Highlander, Angel, Dark Angel and Blood Ties.”

We’re looking forward to it and always love some Wonder Woman, here’s hoping it’ll lead back to further developments on the film side as well!  You can find the Horror Channel UK here:
