Visionary director Zack Snyder (of 300 and WATCHMAN fame) was the man charged with the comic-book reboot of Superman, aka the extraordinary MAN OF STEEL. While I enjoyed those two aforementioned films, the announcement coming so soon after the woeful SUCKER PUNCH had me fearing for Kal-El. After witnessing a superb cast assembling along with the jaw-dropping trailers, my mind has been put to rest as MAN OF STEEL looks stunning.
Henry Cavill leads as the Earth-bound saviour of mankind, hiding behind his human alter-ego Clark Kent. And, that awesome supporting cast ain’t too shabby either – Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon and Amy Adams.
MAN OF STEEL is released on the 14th June and is produced by THE DARK KNIGHT trilogy’s Christopher Nolan. Check out some new footage in these two television spots.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
