Oscar-winner Neil Jordan returns to the bloodsucker genre following his hit 1996 all-star adaptation of Anne Rice’s INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE with the equally seductive BYZANTIUM. The film follows Gemma Arterton and Saorise Ronan as Eleanor and Clara, an immortal mother/daughter-like duo who travel the country with a bloodthirsty secret. After holing up at the seedy hotel of the title, in a disintegrating coastal resort, they encounter a host of individuals who could ultimately threaten their relationship.
BYZANTIUM hits cinemas in the UK on the 31st May, while a US date is set for 28th June. Tom Hollander, Caleb Landry Jones, Daniel Mays, Sam Riley, Kate Ashfield and Jonny Lee Miller co-star.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
