We’re expected a more emotionally dramatic turn from Jason Statham with EASTERN PROMISES scribe Steven Knight’s directorial debut HUMMINGBIRD. Although from the look if this French poster (blazing the alternative title of CRAZY JOE), you wouldn’t think it was any different to his usual action output.
HUMMINGBIRD follows an ex-Special Forces soldier, Joey Jones, who has recently returned from Afghanistan but finds himself with a desperate position, along with his pregnant girlfriend, of being homeless and living amongst the garbage-filled back alley’s of London. However, after a run in with an urban gang he luckily finds work as an enforcer for the criminal underworld but reinvents himself as a nothing-to-lose vigilante when his lover’s body, carrying his unborn child, is found dumped.
HUMMINGBIRD is released in the UK on the 28th June and co-stars Vicky McClure, Benedict Wong, Siobhan Hewlett, Christian Brassington and Ian Pirie. Don’t forget to check out the brooding trailer, previous posters and UK quad if you missed them
