It’s a mystery for sure!
Over the weekend it was reported that Colin Firth, Emily Blunt and ‘funny man’ Adam Sandler had joined Charlize Theron for the John Madden-directed MURDER MYSTERY. The plot follows a newly-wed couple who visit Europe on their honeymoon, only to become involved in a murder scandal. The news was posted by NRW Filmstifftung (who seem to be funding the project), but within hours of the post the statement was retracted. Representatives for both Colin and Emily have come forward to deny their clients involvement with MURDER MYSTERY, but it all seems a little strange. Have they signed on? Or is this just typical Internet-based folly? We’ll have to wait and see.
If the news is true, what do you think of the casting? I absolutely love both Firth and Blunt and it’d be great to see them together on screen. Sandler, however, is a different story…
