THE HOST’s Korean writer/director Joon-ho Bong makes his English language debut with all-star dystopian disaster epic, SNOWPIERCER. A host of hot Hollywood talent, acting legends and international superstars make up the impressive cast that centres on the surviving human race who are forced to live together on an wrecked train that slowly makes its way through a new ice age as a class struggle escalates into a frosty rebellion.

SNOWPIERCER is still awaiting a release date and stars Chris Evans, Song Kang Ho, Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Ewen Bremner, Ko Ah Sung and Alison Pill. Check out the official plot synopsis below, along with the first featurette.

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews. The remaining populace aboard the train have been divided into strict social classes with the poorest at the back of the train and high society at the front. A revolution begins at the back that will not be deterred until it reaches the very front.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
