Acclaimed director Neil Jordan returns to the vampire genre with the seductive chiller, BYZANTIUM. His previous outing was the all-star Anne Rice adaptation INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE and his latest, dark tale follows wandering immortals Eleanor and Clara (Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan), two mysterious young women who flee the scene of a violent crime to find sanctuary in a run-down UK coastal resort. The film is based on Moira Buffini’s script of her very own stage play, which is set in modern-day but spans centuries to tell of their desperate plight as thirsty bloodsuckers.
The film is released in the UK from the 31st May, while a US date has yet to be confirmed. Check out the recent trailer here but we also have two new posters for the film co-starring Tom Holland, Sam Riley, Caleb Landry Jones and Daniel Mays.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
