Burning New One-Sheets For Roland Emmerich’s ‘White House Down’

It Will Start Like Any Other Day‘, read the tagline of destruction master Roland Emmerich’s latest action spectacle, WHITE HOUSE DOWN. Do we think he has something against the iconic address at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Maybe these new posters for the film could have arrived in a more appropriate time frame considering current, controversial and tragic events in Washington D.C. and elsewhere.

The plot for the film follows rookie police officer John Cale (Channing Tatum), on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, but is soon forced into action when his child, civilians and the President himself (Jamie Foxx), comes under attack from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders led by ZERO DARK THIRTY’s underrated madman Jason Clarke.

The film includes a supporting of Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods and Richard Jenkins. It’s slated for the US on 28th June, the UK 6th September. You can find the first trailer here if you missed it.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
