Next month sees director J. J. Abrams deliver his follow-up to 2009 sci-fi reboot. The crew of the U. S. S. Enterprise are called back home to find villain Benedict Cumberbatch’s unstoppable reign of terror within their own organisation and a diabolical plot and personal, pent up vendetta on his mind for Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine). Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Karl Urban all return alongside newcomers Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
We have a couple of new character posters as well as a cool banner for Abrams’ futuristic sequel, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, which arrives in UK cinemas from 9th May and the 17th May in the US.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
