I must own up to not knowing a great deal about THE BIG WEDDING, a brand new movie set to hits cinemas in North America on April 26th, but I am intrigued a little by it. Not because of the rather bland title, or indeed the plot synopsis (see below), but I am intrigued by the cast that has been assembled for it. Robert De Niro leads a huge cast that includes; Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams.
Synopsis: THE BIG WEDDING is an uproarious romantic comedy about a charmingly modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco. To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (De Niro and Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future – and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process.
The film also boast another unique selling point in the US when it is released in a couple of weeks; it will offer a buy one get one free ticket offer! A first I believe. Anyway, we have a brand new featurette for the film, which you can view below.
THE BIG WEDDING opens on 29th May in the UK.
